Guests will have fully private access to this 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment that's housed in a small apartment building here in the lovely Hill East neighborhood of DC. FREE street parking is available directly outside of the apartment building and all around on the blocks of the immediate area.
The Neighborhood:
Hill East is a great residential neighborhood adjacent to Capitol Hill. It is primarily residential, but just far enough from downtown that there is space for plenty of services, including full-sized supermarkets, parks, and playgrounds. It is very walkable and sufficiently close to everything that you won’t feel too far out in the suburbs. Eastern Market and Lincoln Park are conveniently located for your children to play, or to get some people-watching in.
While there are some friendly neighborhood bars and restaurants in Hill East, you’ll find many more options right in Capitol Hill on 8th Street, or the nearby lively H Street Corridor. You can quickly get to those parts of town if you want; it is a longish walk, or you can simply take the Metro that is only two blocks away. Parking is usually easy to come by. If you happen to be a soccer fan, DC United's RFK stadium is less than a 10-minute walk away for getting out to a game while you're in town. Perhaps the biggest advantage of Hill East (sometimes also called Barney Circle) is the strong sense of community. It is the sort of place where residents know each other by name, and help one another with yard work.
Capitol Hill is one of the city’s most popular places to live, with 19th-century rowhouses and a market plus a vibrant nightlife and dining scene. Politicos, young staffers and tourists alike head to the neighborhood both for its government buildings like the U.S. Capitol and the Supreme Court and the surrounding historic, walkable, restaurant-filled blocks. As the largest historic residential neighborhood in the District, there is plenty to keep you busy including visiting the museums, libraries, government buildings and so much more.
Getting Around:
Stadium-Armory METRO rail subway stop is less than a 10 minute walk away at 19th St and A St SE and has Orange, Blue, & Silver line access, multiple bus stops, as well as a Capital bikeshare station.
The apartment is only a 20-minute drive from Reagan National Airport or a 10-minute drive from Union Station.
Lime, Bird, Lyft, and Uber JUMP scooters (and bikes / mo-peds) are readily available on nearly every corner of the city wherever you can find one, rent them easily using their app and your smartphone
