The town of Banff is also a short drive away offering a number of attractions and activities as well as Fraserburgh with its renowned lighthouse. Founded by Alexander Garden as a fishing village in 1720, the port village of Gardenstown is often linked with neighbouring Gamrie and Crovie as one community. A steep road leads you through the ancient, narrow and winding streets to the harbour where many quaint boats are moored.
