Located in Heathfield, this vacation home is in a rural area. High Weald and Crowborough Country Park reflect the area's natural beauty and area attractions include Blackberry Farm Park and Tinkers Park. Traveling with kids? Swimming offers a great chance to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with horse riding, cycling, and hiking nearby. Old Glebe (comprising of the Big House and Stable Cottage) is situated in an idyllic country location, offering peace and tranquillity to those looking to escape the hubbub of daily life for a relaxing holiday, yet within an hour on the train from Central London, and just 30 minutes from the south coast beaches.
Waldron, just 5 minutes walk across the fields, is perfect in every way. A lovely little village complete with gastro pub, cricket club and a romantic church, all set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Our home is totally private surrounded by the extensive gardens and farm, with views over the South Downs to the sea at Beachy Head. Walks from the house are numerous and varied, through fields and woodland, and often ending up at the pub (if you wish).
The Big House sleeps 15 in 7 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms, 3 of which are en-suite. The master bedroom has an open-plan shower room and a deliciously deep, free-standing bath.
Stable Cottage sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The master bedroom also has a free-standing bath within the bedroom. The cottage is never let out to other groups during your stay, so if you only require the main house, you still maintain your privacy and have all the facilities private for your group.
Whilst the property is most comfortable for around 12 to 18 people, there are extra z-beds and an upper bunk to sleep additional guests. In total 28/29 adults/children could be accommodated across the 2 houses, but we don't recommend it.
At the heart of the Big House is the enormous open plan kitchen and dining area with sofa, central island and and the longest dinning table which seats 16 comfortably, but can squeeze up to 20. If further guests need to eat at one sitting, some trestle tables stored in the cellar, tick the box.
The large sitting room is comfortably laid out for having fun all together, with 3 sofas around the open fire, seats in the bay window and a full size table tennis for competitive tournaments. The reading snug offers a quiet space to read the papers, or for a game of bridge away from the main sitting room. Those travelling with children or teenagers will find that the games room, equipped with TV/DVD/Xbox and colourful bean bags is of great benefit.
Set within our 30 acres of private farmland, the house is found up a long cherry tree lined drive. The 6 acres of garden include a good tennis court, footie goals, heated outdoor pool (available Spring to Autumn), BBQ terrace with outdoor dinning, trampoline, croquet lawn, orchard and vegetable garden. A wooded area with hammocks and seating are found near the green house and paths are cut through the woods and long grass for children to explore and enjoy. In one of fields which has the last of the evening sun, a "sundowner" picnic spot has been created from a fallen log, with a swing in a near by tree. A fire pit service is available on request.
Old Glebe is wonderful for the imagination to have an adventure in your own space and land; it is full of surprises with so much attention to detail and you are sure to find something new each time you visit.

Cleaning / Towels / Linen /Maid Service:
Bed linen and one medium towel per person included.
Cleaning during your stay by arrangement priced at £17 per hour. Week long stays must include a minimum of 6 hours cleaning mid stay, by mutual arrangement.
After stay clean is included in the price if house left tidy and organized with everything returned to its place, dishwasher filled and cupboards tidy.
Pets charged at £15 per night/per dog.
Broadband/WIFI suitable for a domestic house and may be slow if all are logged on together. If you need to work from home, we recommend using the little desk in the Loft Room, which has the best service.
The price of The Big House with Stable Cottage together is for up to 18 people, thereafter we charge £25 per guest/per night they stay up to a maximum of 29.

4 nights minimum over bank holiday weekends
7 nights minimum for Christmas/New Year and Peak summer holidays.
