Fosters House is a luxurious holiday home in the Lower Carlton area of St James that couldn’t be any closer to the beach. There are stunning sea views from almost every room, with direct access to the beach from the idyllic outside space.
This is truly a place where you can escape from it all, with a peaceful and relaxed vibe that flows throughout the beautifully furnished rooms. The numerous balconies and living spaces that bring the outside in mean you can enjoy the gentle Caribbean breeze as it whispers through every room.
On the main floor is the spacious living area with several doors leading directly to the outside space. A couple of comfortable sofas sit around a classic wood coffee table, making it the perfect place to enjoy a pre-dinner drink. Sitting behind this area is a large dining table with seating for up to 10 people. Under the partially-covered terrace is another table for enjoying al fresco meals as you soak up unspoilt views of the azure sea. There’s also a range of loungers for reclining in style and comfort. The fitted kitchen is well equipped and features an island with table and chairs for grabbing a quick breakfast before you head out for the day. A convenient extra is the full family bathroom, which is ideal for when you’re popping in and out of the garden.
To the first floor are four bedrooms. Each benefits from air conditioning, a balcony and a luxurious ensuite bathroom. The master bedroom features a beautiful, king size, four-poster bed and elegant antique furniture. Two other bedrooms have twin beds that can be made into a king size bed, with the fourth bedroom having a queen size bed.
The outside space is perfectly designed to make the most of the sea views. Further on from the dining terrace is the main terrace. Here there’s a large, private swimming pool and a selection of sun loungers and even more seating areas. Surrounding the terrace are gardens with exotic plants and even an outdoor shower for cooling off. By the shower is where you’ll find the gate that leads straight out onto the beach.

Location:
Fosters House is ideally situated for easy access to a range of shops and other amenities. Heading out for evening meals and drinks couldn’t be easier and you’ll find a great choice nearby. Even closer, of course, is an immaculate beach. Just a few steps away from your garden is the beach, with its white sand, palm trees and crystal clear water. Make a picnic and enjoy a day out on this practically private beach. Alternatively, head down as evening falls and watch incredible sunsets over the sea.
One of the busiest ports in Barbados, Speightstown, is less than a 10-minute drive away. There are even more stretches of sand to enjoy here, if you haven’t quite had your fill from your own! Colonial buildings are dotted everywhere, with one of the most beautiful being Arlington House Museum. The Gallery of Caribbean Art is worth a look around too, with lots of work from local Barbadian artists on show.
There are plenty of fascinating places for day trips in the area. One of the most popular is Animal Flower Cave in the St Lucy parish right at the northern tip of the island. It’s around a 30-minute drive from Fosters House, with the chance to take in some beautiful scenery along the way. This ocean cave is made up of natural rock pools and a coral floor, with sea anemones dotted everywhere. It’s the island’s only accessible sea cave, so make sure you don’t miss out on visiting this naturally beautiful attraction and an unforgettable experience.
