Embrace life in the slow lane from this beautiful waterfront home on Lake Catherine, located just outside of the hustle & bustle of New Orleans! Watch the sunrise from the front porch, or take a cup of coffee down to the swing at the end of the private fishing pier! Spend some quality time with the family in the sprawling yard, complete with corn hole boards and other lawn games, or bring your boat and head 1/2 mile to the boat launch and spend the day on the water!
Take in the waterfront view of Lake Catherine from your second story view, complete with ample seating and multiple porch swings. All the comforts of home are here, with amenities including flat screen TV's with Roku, reliable WiFi, a fully-stocked kitchen, a washer and dryer, private pier for fishing and crabbing, and even boat parking!
The home is located on Chef Menteur Pass, situated on Lake Catherine, with Lake Pontchartrain and Bayou Sauvage/Lake Pontchartrain right across the street and The Rigolets just up the road! This vacation rental lets you truly experience everything the area has to offer! From on-the-water fun to city exploration, all of NOLA's hot spots are within easy reach. Spend the day deep in the French Quarter, just 30 miles south, or stick close to home for boating, crabbing, barbecuing, and old-fashioned relaxing.
This vacation spot also comes with plenty of entertainment for the whole family, with other amenities that include a foosball table, corn hole boards, a mini put-put game, casino games, jukebox, Jenga, and even fishing poles! We also have a big ice chest/cooler you can fill up with drinks, snacks and ice from large, dedicated ice maker to take down to the water. The home is raised up on pilings, so there's plenty of space beneath the home to enjoy dining on the two picnic tables, or even outdoor games on rainy days.
Our bright and open space is the perfect setting for a mid-sized group or families looking to gather and create memories together! This 3 bedroom home can sleep up to 6 guests, and the bedroom configurations are as follows:
Bedroom 1: (Primary): 1 King bed with ensuite bath (soaking tub & separate shower)
Bedroom 2: 1 Queen Bed
Bedroom 3 : 1 Queen Bed
Common Area: 1 Full bath with tub/shower combo
The home is professionally cleaned prior to every stay and stocked with kitchen essentials, bathroom toiletries, linens and towels for your group.
Upon acceptance of your reservation, you will receive a welcome letter containing all of the information you need to access the home and ensure your stay is a memorable one! If you have any additional questions, we are available at any time to assist.
Important things to note: Though you have full access to the pier, swimming is not permitted, as the water is rough in this area and can contain dangerous debris. Please read through House Rules for more information regarding safety and liability.
The home has a high-end well water system and can occasionally have an odor or color to the water due to the geography of the area. While the water/ice dispenser on the fridge is deactivated, we have a filter on the sink for drinking water and a large, dedicated ice maker in the laundry room for guests to use!
Guests have access to the entire home, including use of the private pier.

Located on Chef Menteur Pass, a thin peninsula that separates Lake Pontchartrain, Lake Catherine, and Rigolets, this vacation rental lets you truly experience everything the area has to offer! From on-the-water fun, to city exploration, there's no shortage of activities to pursue. You'll be located 1/2 mile from a boat launch, and there is a bait shop nearby as well. The home is about 25-30 miles to various parts of New Orleans, and about a 40 minute drive to Bay St. Louis area.
We recommend you have a car for this location. There is a long driveway with plenty of space for parking and space to park your boat. However, it is a bayou/lake location, and other forms of transportation like Lyft or Uber can be hard to find at times. It is only 30 minutes to downtown New Orleans.
Please note - life jackets are mandatory for fishing, boating, or any water related activities, especially for any children out on the pier. We have a variety of fishing poles, but if you are enthusiast, you may want to bring your own. Our waters have drum, redfish, trout, flounder, catfish, and more! We can recommend a company for boat chartering if needed, and provide marina info for boat launch. Please reach out with any questions!
**There is a $200 security/damage deposit collected 3 days prior to arrival, and returned shortly after your stay. This is done as a $200 hold on your method of payment, not a full charge. Please see the rental agreement (required to be read and signed before booking) for more details. ***
1. The booking guest must have their ID uploaded to their profile.
2. Please be mindful of the neighbors sleeping. We recommend being quiet after 8:30pm (weekdays including Sundays) and 9:00pm (weekends).
3. While early check-in / late checkout may be available, this must be arranged ahead of time for an extra fee. Unauthorized Late checkouts are a $50 charge for each hour after 11am - a 15 minute grace period is given.
4. Clean towels are a provided amenity. Each guest listed through your reservation will receive 1 bath towel and 1 face towel. We are unable to fulfill requests for additional towels during the duration of your stay. Plan ahead while packing, please bring extra towels if you or any of your guests anticipate needing more.
5. Smoking & vaping in the unit will result in a $500 deodorization fee. Please smoke outside of the property.
6. Unregistered guests and parties are prohibited by local laws and ILLEGAL. Our occupancy limits are set by local ordinance. Any guest found to have had a party or over-occupancy will be charged a $1,000 fee for non-compliance with local laws. Exterior cameras present at the property to verify these laws/house rules are not broken. As of May 2022, all platforms have specifically banned parties from their units. Violation of this rule will result in a ban from the platform.
7. Please do not hang or attach anything to the walls with push pins, tape, etc. or other painted surfaces.
8. Please do not use face towels to remove makeup, it damages the towels.
9. If the space is left excessively dirty $50 will be charged for each additional hour of cleaning required. Removal of bodily fluids will result in a charge of $150. Glitter cleanup will result in a charge of $100.
10. Unauthorized pets will result in an additional $250 deep cleaning cleaning fee and immediate request to leave. Pet Boarding recommendations available upon request. Both the owner and staff have pet allergies. If traveling with pets please inquire about our pet friendly units.
11. After you’ve read these rules, please send me a message with the words “yellow kangaroo” it will let me know that you have read the rules thoroughly.
12. Unfortunately, we cannot accept bookings from “Locals” at this time. Locals is meant to include anyone residing within 60 miles of New Orleans.
13. While we cannot receive any mail or packages to the space we will assist with getting packages shipped to New Orleans if needed.
14. Commercial video and photo shoots are strictly forbidden without prior and authorized consent. Associated day-rate fees, liability waivers and copyright contracts will apply if consent is given.
15. For the safety of you and your guests, swimming off of the dock is NOT ALLOWED. Water is deep, and the currents can be strong.
16. A life jacket is required for any recreational water activities.
