The space
Accessed via a small cobbled courtyard the property dates back to the 1600's. We have recently extended and renovated the cottage, retaining the Olde Worlde charm that makes it so special, it has a wonderful warm, light and airy feel.
The large open plan kitchen and dining area, with exposed beams, is full of cottage character. It is excellently equipped with all the items you would expect for a luxury break, including a Neff double oven and 5 ring induction hob, an American fridge freezer, dishwasher, slow cooker, microwave, toaster and kettle, a comprehensive range of pots and pans, crockery, cutlery and glassware. There is also an OLED Smart TV mounted on the wall in the dining section to the kitchen. The kitchen has patio doors that lead out into the garden.
Leading off from the kitchen, there is a second lounge - the snug. This has a log burner, two sofas, an OLED Smart TV mounted on the wall, a digital piano and large windows looking onto the patio.
The main lounge has exposed oak beams, a magnificent Victorian range with a wood burning stove, comfy sofas, a flat screen TV, a DVD player, books and games. There are also a number of maps and walking books with recommended routes from light strolls to a full scramble.
Also downstairs, there is a toilet/cloakroom and a separate utility room with a washing machine and tumble drier, with storage space for coats and shoes.
The master bedroom has a super king size bed, wardrobe, dresser and other drawers - so there is plenty of storage for your stay. A mirror is on the wall above the larger dresser and a Dyson hair dryer is also provided for your use. There is a window with views overlooking the village and countryside beyond. There are blinds at the windows with blackout lining to make sure you get a great nights sleep. This bedroom leads to the en-suite shower room, with a shower cubicle, toilet, hand basin, storage unit and illuminated mirror with electric shaving points. There is a large velux window which means the room is bright and airy!
The second bedroom has stunning oak beams and is oozing character. It has a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and a full length mirror. A large mirror is positioned over the drawers so this can be used as a dressing table. There are windows to the front and rear of the room, giving lots of natural light and lovely distant views. There are blinds at the windows with blackout lining to make sure you get a great nights sleep.
The third bedroom has a lovely vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and stone. There are two single beds, a very large wardrobe and a set of drawers with a mirror above. There are lovely views across to the countryside, with blackout blinds at the windows.
The bathroom is spacious, with a large walk in shower cubicle and a really powerful shower! There is a separate bath with mixer taps and a shower attachment.
Outside of the property there is a large private parking space for guests sole use. To the back of the cottage there is a private fenced garden, this has a large dining table on one of the patio areas, with another patio area housing a small sofa, chairs and a coffee table. The outdoor areas are subtly lit for those warmer evenings.
Guest access
The cottage will be for your sole use during your stay, with the owners not living on site. There is a large private parking space and private gardens.
There is a courtyard at the front of the cottage this is shared with the neighboring property, this is for access to both cottages, please note that this area is not for parking or unloading.
Other things to note
As this is an old property (built in the 1600s) some of the doorways are low and there are steps between some of the rooms. The steps on the stairs are of varying depth and height.
Guests with mobility issues or very small children may want to take this into consideration before booking.
We do not provide a high chair, cot or baby gates, so therefore guests with younger children/babies would need to bring these with them.
We do not accept pets.
Additional rules
Please be mindful that this is a cottage in a village and not a party house.
We would ask that you treat the cottage as if it was your own home.
We would appreciate it very much if all guests could remove their outdoor footwear when using the cottage.
Upon check out, please leave the cottage tidy, ensuring any crockery, cutlery pans etc are cleaned and put away and any food is removed from the fridge and freezer.
