Located in the exclusive, prestigious and private Red Mountain Ranch neighborhood rarely available for rental. Hike or bike from the property directly to Hunter Creek trails system within minutes. At 6,300 square feet and 25 foot cathedral ceilings in the great room, it feels like your own private boutique hotel.
Five dedicated sleeping bedrooms in the main house with one converted into a gorgeous at-home gym. The gym has a Peleton bike and Peleton tread (requires your Peleton account and login), free weights, mirror, hot yoga dome, higher dose infrared pemf mat and yoga mats, hot stone massage kit and two massage tables; everything needed to work out and relax. Temperature-controlled wine closet through the gym as well. Lofted screening room perfect for movie nights overlooking the great room. Secondary screening room on the main floor for kids or guests in the playroom.
The one bedroom detached cottage above the garage with unparalleled unobstructed views, has a full kitchen, 3/4 bath, and living space with a queen pull out sectional for up to four guests total rented out separately and not included in this listing. Check for availability at time of booking. Indoor wood-burning fireplace. Outdoor wood-burning hot tub by Woodland. Outdoor wood burning firepit with Adirondack chairs for enjoying spectacular evenings looking over the glittering town of Aspen. Breeo wood burning firepit just outside the kitchen for those wanting to cook over a fire. Weber propane gas grill for convenience.
Chef’s kitchen, fine linens, down comforters/pillows, featherbeds and other luxurious touches will make you feel right at home. Five to ten minute drive straight down into town. The house is located at the top of red mountain off of red mountain road and is the third highest home on the mountain directly above town. A car is a must for this location, though walking into toen is about 30 minutes. Taxis available or drivers can be booked with one of the local limo companies. Hire a chef, massage therapists and a driver, and it will feel like your own private resort. You have access to a two-car detached garage and a small auto court that can hold a few cars. There is a fully-equipped laundry room on the lower level with two Miele industrial size washer and dryer. In the gym, we have two brand-new residential size Miele washer and dryer. All detergent is provided, just bring your clothes.
Things to note about the property:
Age: it is an older home, built in 1983 and remodeled in 1990. The bathrooms are fully functioning and there is one steam shower in the kids bunk room bathroom. Please adjust your expectations, as the property is not brand-new and may require some cosmetic updating. We understand most guests will prefer a modern or newly renovated property and this is reflected in the average nightly rate which we believe is fair.
Wildlife: please note that since the property backs up to over 6,000 acres of wilderness, we have many animals frequenting the property. The house is surrounded by a privacy forest of aspen and poplar trees obscuring the views with greenery in the summer and a golden forest in September and October. Due to this, we have birds such as magpies, hummingbirds, and birds making nests outside. Hence the name of the property is Eagle's Nest with no relation to the historical summer retreat of the infamous Hitler. We do have bears around which are dangerous only if you approach, walk toward them or confront them while they are trapped. They generally are afraid of people and will walk away. We have deer that like to walk around the property and sometimes sleep on the lawn under the trees. We have wild turkeys, marmots, weasels, bunnies and chipmunks. If you need to leave a door open for a period of time, please be closeby to monitor so critters such as bears don't enter the home.
Landscapers: we have weekly landscapers that arrive at the property to maintain the outside for a few hours. They cut the grass, use a blower and weed.
Cleaning: there is no cleaning service during the stay. If you would like to arrange cleaning services, please do so before your arrival and I can help you arrange with my team, or provide you with contact information and you must pay them directly.
Moving furniture: if you must move large furniture that requires professional movers, I will accommodate your requests at your expense of $200/hour.
I must ask in order for your stay to be the best possible experience that you work with me BEFORE your arrival to arrange anything you may need:
If you need anything for your stay, please arrange with me before your arrival, such as a travel crib, bassinet, high-chair, children's dining and flatware etc. Please specify in which room these are to be placed so they are ready for your arrival.
If you require groceries to be stocked, please arrange with me prior to your stay and we can coordinate your order through Instacart to be delivered and I can put it in the fridge and freezer for you.
If none of these are arranged before your arrival, please note that I will do my best to accommodate, but it may take at least 24-48 hours instead of immediately.
If you would like to arrange for a massage therapist, private yoga instructor or personal trainer, chef or catering services to come to the home, please inquire and arrange before your stay to ensure availability. If you are hoping to have a gathering/event larger than your overnight guests, please speak with me before your arrival or booking, as you will require a valet parking service at your expense per HOA requirements and must be arranged before arrival/check-in.
If any of your guests may be allergic to down feathers you must not book this listing. Every bed is outfitted with European down comforters and pillows, including the kid’s bunk beds and toddler bed and some have featherbeds. Most pillows on the sofas are made of down as well. The home also has shearling rugs and coverings on the breakfast nook in the kitchen, on the outdoor chairs and shearling rugs in the kids' room and throughout.
Please note that we do not have air conditioning. In the summer at this elevation, the temperature drops to around 45 to 55 degrees overnight and in the mornings, and I recommend opening the windows and doors to let cool mountain air in. Dyson fans are provided to purify and multiply airflow and humidifiers and accompanying distilled water are provided in every bedroom.
If there are any issues raised on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, it may take until the next business day to resolve.
If there are any requests you have to make your prospective stay more enjoyable, please arrange with me before your arrival and I will do my very best to accommodate.
Check-in at 4pm and check-out time at 11am are firm in order for us to have enough time to get the home up to a high quality standard.
