The lodge and hall is one of the cottages at King Parrot Cottages & Event Centre, nestled on the north-facing hillside of the spectacular Pennyroyal Valley, consisting of five other cottages. King Parrot is located in hinterland of the Otways on 200 acres of diverse terrain from rainforest valley floor, to gorgeous bush tracks, as well as being located only half an hour away from Lorne, Forrest, Birregurra and Colac, King Parrot Cottages is the perfect holiday destination. Situated in hinterland of the Otways on 200 acres of diverse terrain from rainforest valley floor where the campground is located the north facing side of the Pennyroyal Valley with gorgeous views, gorgeous bush tracks as well as being located only half an hour away from Lorne, Forrest, Birregurra King Parrot Cottages is the perfect holiday destination. The lodge & hall are ideal for larger groups of people as they are linked together. The lodge has a split-level open plan living area, which allows groups to interact socially in a fabulously spacious environment. The kitchen has a large display refrigerator, freezer, commercial size stove and oven, microwave and dishwasher. The top level of the lodge has 3 double bedrooms with king size beds and 3 bathrooms. There are barbecues and outdoor seating. The whole complex has a long veranda overlooking the pristine Pennyroyal Valley with spectacular views to the east, north & west. The hall is connected to the lodge via a small staircase where 8 single roll out beds can be added. Please note that the hall is a versatile space that can be used for conventions, seminars, weddings or yoga retreats although this must be booked through us directly as requirements need to be discussed. King Parrot Cottages and Event Centre has an infrared sauna. Bookings and payment to be made through our website. A communal outdoor salt water pool, games room, small gym and its own private bush walking tracks including waterfall are onsite. Guests have access to most of the 200 acres, with private bush walking tracks, communal pool, games room and children's playground. King Parrot Cottages is located in the picturesque Pennyroyal Valley near Deans Marsh in the Otway Ranges, 1 1/2 hours drive from Melbourne CBD, 1 hour from Geelong and only 25 minutes from Lorne, Winchelsea or Colac. We are a perfect base for your tour of the Great Ocean Road and the Otway hinterland. We live up to our name as a bush retreat. End of valley privacy is protected by 4km winding gravel road, steep in sections. You do not need 4WD but you do need to be comfortable driving on gravel roads. To come to King Parrot you will need your own vehicle as there is no public transport in the area. King Parrot Cottages and Event Centre is a family-friendly property. We are bound by regulations around excessive noise as determined by the Environment Protection Authority of Victoria. There are neighbouring properties in the valley and noise travels unhindered around the hills and through the bush, especially at night. Our policy is to maintain a minimal environmental impact so that others, as well as our guests, may enjoy the peace and beauty of the Pennyroyal Valley. Therefore, the management of King Parrot reserves the right to control the level of noise created on the property and in the evenings, noise must be kept to a minimum after 10:00pm on weekdays and 10:30pm on weekends. Again, to retain the tranquillity of the valley for both our neighbours and our guest’s, loud music is not permitted at any time. Strict NO PARTY Policy All disruptive parties and events are prohibited. In the event of disruption to neighbours or other guests, King Parrot Cottages and Event Centre will gain possession of the property immediately and guests will be asked to leave with no refund. As we are located in the bush, we are safe from jelly fish and crocodiles, but not so much from snakes, they form part of the world we live in and important to our eco system and can be rarely encountered. There is a snake kit located at reception.
